So i've been away for awhile, mostly off doing things in "real life" so to speak. My absence from deviantart hasn't meant an absence from my photography however as i have been shooting more than ever. I've uploaded a couple shots from while i've been gone, though most (three out of four) are possibilities for the current NaturePics Club contest. Anyway i suppose i'll be around for the next couple months, at least until college classes start. Hopefully my photography has improved some since i was last here but it makes sense that i'll have to get busy commenting and such if people are to take notice. More than likely all my old friends have long since stopped checking in on me.
It's only march and already the weather is turning beautiful. With daylight savings time, sunny days, and 70 degree weather it's hard to stay inside and work. A lot of the trees are coming in to bloom as well. The magnolia trees are my favorite . Maybe i'll get out and take some pictures between all the joy rides, Ultimate frisbee, river hikes, and of course school work. It's hard to believe a lot of people still have snow.
Valentine's Day proved to be an amazingly good holiday for the first time in a long time. Normally it's just a box of chocolates for my brother and i, a vase of flowers for my mom, and a home made apple pie for my dad. Pleasant, but quickly forgotten. This year my dad had two wrapped packages on the table. I assumed there was one each for my mom and me (my brother goes to college now) most likely containing chocolate or something similar. Instead one package contained a memory card and the other a brand new sony a100 DSLR that i share with my mother! It's amazing and so unexpected! I had been saving to buy a DSLR eventually, but my lack of a job ment that it would take until next Chritmas at the least before i would be able to afford one much less any glass for it. Words cannot describe the difference between a DSLR and a point-and-shoot (well they probably can; i just don't feel like expending the effort to make them).
I've been admiring the gorgeous colors on the trees as i drive to and from school and i finally got out and took some pictures today. marching band season is quickly coming to a close as we compeated at our last competition and our football team's chances of making the playoffs shrunk even more. hopefully its end will give me enough time to get caught up with my classes and still have some time left over to take more pictures. i hope all of you are enjoying the seasons well!

Well my week vacation is coming to an end and i really don't want to go back to school. i've had so much fun finally learning how to water ski (slalom no less ), trying to get my 4x zoom to take good zoo shots, watching my college and high school football teams win, going to the movies, and just generally having a good time. i've finally gotten around to posting some shots i've had ready for awhile but never submitted so i hope you guys enjoy them while i'm slaving away at school
